Proposed Itinerary

Day 1 – We will leave Preston this morning for our trip down to Marlborough, with pick-up places along our route.  I Marlborough we will book into the   Hotel for the next two nights on a B&B basis.

Day 2 – A day taking in the sites around the Marlborough Downs, including Avebury henge and Avenue, Silbury Hill, West Kennet Long Barrow, the Sanctury Circle and maybe the Devil’s Den dolmen.

Day 3 – Today we will change location to the seaside town of Weynouth, calling off at the ancient hill forts of Old Sarum (if open) and South Cadbury Castle, thought to be the home of King Arthur.

Day 4 – A free day by the sea in Weymouth.

Day 5 & 6 – A day exploring the ancient sites of Dorset including:  Maiden Castle, None Stones stone circle, Maumbury Rings, Cerne Abbas Giant & Well, Knowlton Henge, Badbury Rings, 

Day 7 – We will head north and home dropping off en route.  If you are travelling in the direction of London there is a great rail service from Weymouth.
