Long Meg, the huge monolith, catching the suns light perfectly, in the right third of the composition is said to be an outlier to the massive stone circle, but she was actually there long before the circle. In the centre of the image is the double lined stone entrance portal and the distant mountains provide an idea of the surrounding landscape.
