7 Day Ancient Sites Tour

The Italian island of Sardinia is known for its beautiful scenery and stunning Mediterranean Sea views but it is also holds a secret ancient past that today shows itself through its numerous, fascinating and unique megalithic sites. The Nuraghi are huge stone towers that differ in style from quite basic to sophisticated multi chambered fortified structures, the Giants Grave chambers tombs are of a design found only on the island and the Tamuli Pedras Menhirs show a particular form of anamorphous carving found nowhere else.

Based in the vibrant town of Olbia we will be visiting the islands ancient sites mainly in north and central area of Sardinia with a day off to explore and discover the town.

We just returned from our 3rd Megalithic tour with Neil to see the nuraghic structures on the island of Sardinia. We were based in the town of Olbia, a walkable, under the radar gem with a great central square that was a perfect place to unwind at the end of the day. We toured the mid and northern part of the island, exploring the nuraghes, the Giant’s Tombs, sacred wells, dolmens and the totally unique structure of Monte d’ Accoddi, a massive raised stone platform in the northwest of the island. With over 7000 nuraghes on the island, Neil did a great job of curating the itinerary. Each site he selected to visit offered something different and unique. This is truly a magical tour.

The 2023 tour will begin on the 14th September in Olbia, with pickups at the airport and train station from 11am and will end on the 20th with drop offs available to the same locations.
