Castlerigg Stone Circle, in the English Lake District, is one of the most complete and visually impressive sites of its type in the World and it is famous for being surrounded by an amphitheatre of mountains, which complete this most imposing of ancinet landscapes. On this sunny Sumer day, I chose the view to the North passage with the mountains of Skiddaw to the left and Blencathra, an important ancient landmark, to the right.
